Dune Rats beer

Featuring The Dune Rats, Young Henrys Oscar McMahon
Sydney, Australia
23/02/2017

Yes the industrious wild brumbies at Young Henrys brewery promised punk band the Dune Rats their own signature beer if their latest album hit number 1 on the ARIA charts.

Well guess what...drum roll...YES it fucken did and so here it is - The DUNIES Lager

To quote from the media release:-

Available for purchase in six packs of 330ml tinnies (RRP $24.99) with labels designed by Lee McConnell, the artist behind the latest Dunies album cover, Dunies Lager is a slightly hazy, summer smasher of a beer with a full blown dank hop nose and flavor, courtesy of some late addition hop hash. Mosaic, Citra, El Dorado and Azacca hops give a feisty first impression, but mellow into an easy-going friend that drinks for days, much like the Dune Rats themselves.

Young Henrys founder Oscar McMahon had some very wise words to be said about the Dunies lager - "Its awesome when friends of friends come into the fold, become new friends, drink beers together...and then decide to make a beer together. The Dunies lads are legit, hardworking, honest and don't take themselves too seriously. We see eye to eye with them, love their excitement for everything they do and wanted to do something fun to share that excitement with a few more people. This has been a truly cool project."

Dunies Lager will be available for the first taste at a raucous launch party on Sunday, 26th February at Cliffdive and throughout the country on the Dune Rats national tour in March. The launch party will feature a Ratbags Records line-up and DJ. (registration via Eventbrite) You can RSVP via Eventbrite (until the allocation is exhausted) and there will also be free tickets on the door at Cliffdive from 7pm. First in best dressed! https://www.facebook.com/thecliffdive

Get a Dunies Lager into ya or better yet - go to a punk fucken rock Duneis gig and drink 20 Dunies Lagers and bang your head up and down to loud, awesome drums and guitars and shit. YES

Dune Rats Tour Dates:
11th March – Metropolis, Fremantle WA
12th and 13th March – The Gov, Hindmarsh SA
16th, 17th and 18th March – Croxton Park Hotel, Thornbury VIC 22nd,

  2. The Whitsundays travel guide

"I''ve travelled around the world and the most beautiful place i have ever seen is in our backyard - the Whitsundays” - Emily Hutchinson @emelinaah
We planned a fun 8-day Whitsunday holiday filled with reef diving, island hopping, water activities and plenty of time to relax. The trip kicked off with three days in Airlie Beach which was enough time to chat to the locals and get the inside story on the best things to do and explore in the Whitsundays. Every conversation pointed to two things: a one-day Cruise Whitsundays dive trip to the outer Great Barrier Reef and a sea plane flight over Heart Reef and Whitehaven Beach with Air Whitsunday. Then we spent four leisurely days on a #gobareboating catamaran exploring the 74 Whitsunday Islands. Thanks to our very own skipper (a local who knew just the right places), we stumbled across our own secret beaches, found hidden gems and watched the tropical Whitsunday world go by. Our trip ended with an overnight stay on glorious Hamilton Island - and a chance to mix water sports and hiking activities with chill outs by the resort pool and enjoy quality restaurant and cocktail time.
